2007 Season - Week 5

Trading Day 1

26 players came and went as owners got serious with those underperforming NFL players although 30 minutes after cutting QB Matt Schaub Johnny picked him up again. In all 12 owners made changes to their teams with Cheryl making five! As always a big BUMS thanks to Cheryl for the food (how she fitted in cooking whilst making all those moves I’ve no idea). Instant analysis shows that Dave G was the biggest winner with his additions outscoring his cuts by 12 points, followed by Marcus on plus 10 with AP & Chief both on plus 7. Cheryl was the biggest loser (minus 9) but her big money signing Brian Westbrook was on a bye week. Most Popular/Unpopular teams Unsurprisingly New England proved the most popular team as they added 4 players to BUMS rosters. Kevin Faulk, Sammy Morris, Ben Watson and HC Bill Belicheat joined the BUMS. Dallas & Green Bay added 3 more players each. This makes the Patriots the most popular franchise with 9 players on BUMS rosters, that’s 1 more than the Colts. On the other side of the street winless New Orleans and St. Louis both lost 3 players each and the Rams are now the least fancied franchise with just 1 player, Johnny’s franchise running back Steven Jackson, on a BUMS roster. Cuts by draft round It doesn’t matter which round you are selected in you can still be cut. It’s good to see that owners aren’t stubborn if they realise they’ve made a first round gaff. 2 players taken in the first round of the draft last month got their marching orders:- Aaron cutting Travis Henry due to his impending suspension (Henry’s not Aaron’s) and Cheryl cutting Phillip Rivers. 2 second rounders, 5 third, 7 fourth, 4 fifth and 4 sixth rounders were cut. 2 Franchise players also faced the chop as AP cut jail-bound Michael Vick & Daz said goodbye to disappearing wideout Ernest Wilford. BUMS on Seats. We are at Johnny’s on Sunday for the Sky doubleheader as Tampa Bay entertain Tennessee followed by the showdown of the unbeatens as New England travel to Dallas. On Monday evening we’ll be at HQ to see New Orleans @ Seattle and on Tuesday we’ll be at H’s from 6:30pm for NY Giants @ Atlanta. As always all are welcome, give us a call if you intend to visit.
